The Lotus Collection
I have been fascinated by the lotus flower ever since living in South East Asia, more than a decade ago. It felt like coming home, finding my roots again. My mother was born in Saigon during the French colonial period and I grew up surrounded by stories and imagery related to Vietnam.
No mud. No Lotus.

We need the mud in order to make the lotus.” – Thich Nhat HanhThis quote by the famous Vietnamese buddhist teacher Thich Hat Hanh has been one I often return to, especially in periods of doubt and uncertainty. My wish is that my paintings bring a sense of solace and acceptation to those who come across them.
